Lake County Sherriff Dispatcher Receives Prank Call from an Old Man

An old man from Waukegan now faces a lawsuit after his prank call with the dispatcher of the Lake County Sherriff. The man identified, as Robert J. Simmons needs to pay his $50,000 bail to get out of the prison.

According from the news online, Simmons contacted the dispatcher and claimed that he killed at least 19 students from an elementary school in Waukegan. Because of his prank call on Tuesday morning, the Lake County Sherriff charged him with disorderly conduct and required him to pay $50,000 for his bail, which Detective Christopher Covelli confirmed.

The 61-year-old man lives at 3000 block of Belvidere Road of the stated place.

They arrested him while inside his house and without untoward incident happened during the arrest. When asked by the investigating team about the prank call, Simmons admitted it but did not reason out on why he did such call. Furthermore, he did not mention or pinpoint any name of school.

The call happened at around 10:55 in the morning on Tuesday.

In order to set him out of the jail, the authority is requiring him to pay at least 10% of the total bail amount. The next scheduled hearing for him is set on March 21, 2016 to investigate further on why he made such disturbing call to the Lake County Sherriff.

Due to the increasing numbers of prank callers in American and in other parts of the world, it is now important for the government agencies to become cautious on this particular matter. They need to investigate properly on all reported cases to make sure these pranksters will not bother innocent people repeatedly.
